Day 1

Today I start my juice fast.  I'm excited!!!  I've done this twice before for a short period of time (7-10 days).  This time I'm hoping to make it to at least 20, especially since I've now announced it to the world.  My true goal is 30 days but I'm not sure I'll last that long. =) There are tons of benefits to juicing, and fasting this way is a great detox as well as immune booster.  After becoming very ill a few years ago, I've learned to listen to my body and take it seriously when things don't feel right.  These past few months have been very busy 'round our home...in great ways...but still busy.  I haven't been eating like I should, and I'm feeling kinda drained so it's time to get my health back on track. I won't be posting about it everyday but I will keep you posted on my progress, struggles, weight loss and recipes.  If any of you out there have done this before I would love to hear about your experie...

Lesson Learned

It was our night to have time alone...me and this second son of mine.  Of course, what did he want to do - watch a survival story.  Not the best thing to set your eyes upon moments before bedtime. It was a story of a man whose plane had crashed into the ocean.  No other survivors.  Alone, he drifted for over 24 hours...submerged in cold, shark infested waters, stung by schools of jellyfish, tossed about by the crashing waves with no land in sight...survival seemed hopeless.  At first, thoughts of panic raced through his mind.  Even thoughts of deliberately attracting a shark so he could quickly be eaten, seemed reasonable to entertain.  Eventually self preservation kicked in, and with clear intent he laid back in surrender to the billowing waves.  As he floated across miles, the sky darkened into the black night.  Exhausted and sure of his emanate death, a log drifted towards him.  The miraculous had taken place and hope was born....

Fun Times

Wow.  It's been FOREVER since I've blogged.  So much has been going on...I don't even know where to begin...  It's been a peaceful day so far.  I'm just sittin' on the swing, sippin' a cup of coffee, soaking in the warm sunshine.  Life is good.  Not always easy...but good. Spring is in full bloom in these parts and I couldn't be more thrilled.  The trees are budding, the grass is changing into rolling hills of green and the flowers are bursting with brilliant hues.   I've thrown open the windows and welcomed the fresh air (even though my fresh air smells like goat). =) Our Easter decorating is almost finished and the kids and I have been working like crazy out in the garden.  AND of course, Spring means babies.  Our newest little addition, Maggie.  Baby goats are absolutely the most adorable thing!!!    ~Audrey and Maggie~ Here are a few other creatures scur...
