Laundry Laundry Laundry

A few years ago, I posted the recipe we used to make our own laundry soap.  It was inexpensive, easy to make and worked well.  Since that time I've found a recipe I like much better.  It's still inexpensive, easier to make, store, and seems to do a better job getting rid of those...ummm...boy smells.  In the last few weeks a number of requests have been made for the new recipe. So, here it is. Oh, by the way, this can be used in a high efficiency washer (at least we've had no problems).  It works best if you sprinkle it inside the tub (on the clothes) instead of adding it to the soap dispenser. 1 Box Borax (4lbs. 12oz) 1 Box Washing Soda (3lbs. 7oz ) 4 lbs. Baking Soda 3 Bars of Zote, Ivory, Castile, or Fels-Naptha soap; grated Mix well.  Use 2 Tablespoons per load.  In my area everything can be found at King Soopers or Walmart Hope you all enjoy! =) Until then... Poo Be Gone!

Ahhh, I just love waking from a good dream don't you?  There I was..Barefoot.  Frolicking through the rolling green hills.  Filling my lungs with the crisp, fresh air as rays of sunlight beat against my cheek.  Peaceful.  Content.  What a wonderful dream. The tone had been set for a delightful morning.  Upon rising I threw on my robe, slippers and grabbed a Carmel cappuccino.  Making my way to the back porch (where I like to spend time in the mornings) all felt right with the world.  The sun was shining bright.  It was quiet in the neighborhood.  With eyes closed I focused upon all that I had been blessed with and inhaled deeply hoping to breath in the clean, crisp air of my dream.  Only to be slapped into reality by the distinct odor of fresh goat droppings.  YUK!  Poo.  Poo.  Everywhere I look there is poo.  Chicken poo.  Goat poo.  Dog, ca...

My Trip to Crazy World

Ugh.  My day consisted of the dreaded plunge.  Walmart.  I cringe every time I think of it!  I will admit I despise shopping of any kind unless it's for shoes, the flea market, garage sales or Craigslist (an adventurous hunt for the unusual is always a blast).  However, Walmart is one of my most dreaded trips.  It is an adventure though...odd people, no parking, lines that are unending and I am undoubtedly accosted by every nut in the state of Colorado.  Yes.  That sums it up.  I'm convinced they need a HUGE sign out front that reads ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!  Nevertheless once a month I pretend to be brave and venture out.  Well, three full carts... five grumpy kids...a cashier that needed a serious dose of personality and 2 hours later...I was spent.  To top it off I held my breath as I watched the cashier scan one item after another quickly racki...
